Umaid Bhawan Jaipur
It is named in the memory of Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur, who was the grandfather of present Maharaja; this palace is amongst one of the world’s largest private residences, situated in Jodhpur, the city near vast desert in Rajasthan. A part of this palace is managed by Taj group of hotels as a 5 star hotel since 1972, some part of it is open to public as museum, and rest is principal residence of Jodhpur’s royal family.
Umaid Bhawan Palace has 347 rooms. It took 14 years long time from 1929 to 1943 and unlimited money to construct and decorate it.
The palace is designed in such a way that the temperature within it is always maintained below 24 degree Celsius.
