In the year 1458 Rao Jodha moves the capital to Jodhpur to secure his people’s safety and began building the fort in 1459 on the Hill of Birds or Bhaurcheeria Hill as it is known locally. The fort has seven gates and each one has a special feature. There are many attractions attached to the fortress especially temples and a well visited one is the Chamunda Mataji Temple as Chamunda Mataji was one of Jao’s most favourite of Goddess Deities. Other wonderful attractions include the Moti Mahal or Pearl Palace and the Hall of Mirrors otherwise known as Sheesha Mahal. There is a museum too which has unique and ancient artefacts and tells a lot about the history of the region.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4774855361571789821.post-11241066824888028542008-09-28T08:16:00.001-07:002008-09-28T08:19:16.560-07:00Jaisalmer Derwar Fort<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinrTaFTw_ie-uF88qee-Yt5YKAPEAzjWZV7naot9x3Z_GVdH21L_N0y0MLs71UhsJ1iUcQocdt7YpQ5BG9wltEOtsZeBvxC6Mta0Ouo3kYU_ui7cXrkDxTEwRl5PxPXza_P_1f_ho3x_CH/s1600-h/derwar-fort.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinrTaFTw_ie-uF88qee-Yt5YKAPEAzjWZV7naot9x3Z_GVdH21L_N0y0MLs71UhsJ1iUcQocdt7YpQ5BG9wltEOtsZeBvxC6Mta0Ouo3kYU_ui7cXrkDxTEwRl5PxPXza_P_1f_ho3x_CH/s400/derwar-fort.jpg" alt="Derwar Fort" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251091461720719714" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">Derwar Fort Picture, Rajasthan</span><br /></div><a id="publishButton" class="cssButton" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="if (this.className.indexOf("ubtn-disabled") == -1) {var e = document['stuffform'].publish;(e.length) ? e[0].click() : e.click(); if (window.event) window.event.cancelBubble = true; return false;}"><div class="cssButtonOuter"><div class="cssButtonMiddle"><div class="cssButtonInner"><br /></div></div></div></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4774855361571789821.post-54311907300361318962008-08-24T02:37:00.000-07:002008-10-24T20:49:43.053-07:00Jaipur Amber Fort<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd8sU3fqGIHMJ1h_geoC8hoVw_irsxBpmu0PKF-IE_cJ3VAw2hgCp3hT1iIzmk7mKVqf2NcGP_UzFZnoaTM0m9CcB0s075Ar9c7UawsDeuZ0t9ssT9xMdC8L0_kDz1c-67xoaH7Yoifs1w/s1600-h/amber-fort.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd8sU3fqGIHMJ1h_geoC8hoVw_irsxBpmu0PKF-IE_cJ3VAw2hgCp3hT1iIzmk7mKVqf2NcGP_UzFZnoaTM0m9CcB0s075Ar9c7UawsDeuZ0t9ssT9xMdC8L0_kDz1c-67xoaH7Yoifs1w/s400/amber-fort.jpg" alt="Amber Fort Jaipur" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238016271579946626" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 102, 0);">Amber Fort, Jaipur</span><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The Amber Fort is by far one of the great monumental pieces erected in the Amber Region of Jaipur. The pink sandstone Palace was erected with full harem views coming out of 953 little windows that are finely embellished with intricate and small pieces of latticework. Embodying the former glory of the Maharaja’s of India’s glorious past, the Hawa Mahal was constructed in the year 1799 by the then Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The women of the Palace were practicing a strict code of Purdah so they could see out but no one could see in. The most beneficial time to visit is in the early hours of Sunrise before it gets too hot where you can really see the reflection of the colour of the building in all its absolute magnificence.</span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
